Welcome back to the late 80’s when high tops and slouch socks were the coolest thing you could wear. These fun Brioche socks harken back to a simpler time when the spandex was tight and your socks were loose. These cozy socks are perfect for lounging around the house in or going to aerobics. I hope you enjoy this fun knit of brioche in the round.
Things you will need
2/2.25/2.5mm (0, 1, 1.5 US) Circular needles with at least 40 inch cable for magic loop (multiple sizes listed so you can use the size required to obtain gauge)
3/3.25/3.5mm (2.5, 3, 4 US) Circular needles with at least 40 inch cable for magic loop (multiple sizes listed so you can use the size required to obtain gauge) choose the needle size that is one full needle size larger than your main needle size. This needle is used for the brioche only.
(Note: if you prefer double pointed needles feel free to use them, but these instructions are written for magic loop so you will need to adjust)
Scissors
Tapestry needle (to weave in the ends)
3 stitch markers
Yarn
One 100 gram skein of fingering weight yarn referred to as C1, one 50 gram skein of fingering weight yarn in a high contrast colour referred to as C2. Sample took 75 grams for C1 and 25 grams for C2.
Sizing
Women’s small: 19 cm, 7 1/2 inches
Women’s medium/mens small: 20.5 cm, 8 inches
Women’s large/mens medium: 21.5 cm, 8 1/2 inches
Mens large: 24 cm, 9 1/2 inches
Leg length: adjustable
Foot length: adjustable: knit until sock measures two inches from full foot length.
